Traveling internationally is a big decision, especially if you are going back to a place that was once your home. When adoptees choose to return to their birth country, it can be for a variety of reasons such as exploring, sightseeing, searching, or moving. Preparing for a trip to one’s birth country is essential, and while an adoptee is planning the physical components for their trip, it is also important for them to consider the emotional components. A range of emotions may come up before, during, or after a trip to one’s birth country. This webinar will share one adoptee’s insights and experiences after multiple trips back to their birth country. It will cover things to consider in preparing for a trip, self-care on the trip, and the importance of documenting the trip.
