Outdoor Therapy

When life feels overwhelming, nature can offer a place to slow down, reconnect, and find your footing.

Outdoor sessions offer a therapeutic experience where the sights, sounds, and sensations of nature become part of your healing. Whether we walk and talk or sit outside together, being in nature can create opportunities to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself and the world around you. The movement of walking, warmth of the sunlight, feel of a soft breeze, rhythm of your breath, and simple act of noticing what surrounds you can invite grounding, reflection, and clarity.

Walk-and-talk therapy allows us to explore your experiences while moving through an outdoor setting at a pace that feels comfortable for you, offering fresh air, gentle movement, and conversation. Outdoor sitting sessions provide a quieter option for those who prefer to remain still and take in their surroundings as we talk. Together, we can draw on the natural environment as we explore trauma, stress, life transitions, identity, relationships, and personal growth.

You can choose this option instead of or in combination with telehealth sessions. While outdoor therapy offers many benefits, it also introduces considerations such as inclement weather, environmental distractions, and potential compromises to confidentiality. We can discuss these risks and ways to minimize them during our initial consultation and early sessions. To ensure ethical client care, I require all clients to participate in 2–3 telehealth sessions before beginning outdoor therapy so that we can establish a therapeutic relationship and determine the best course of support for you.

I currently offer outdoor sessions at three convenient locations
in the South Denver area:

Learn more about service rates on my Fees and Insurance page. If my approach sounds like it may be a good fit for you, please submit a Request for Individual Counseling. When your availability aligns with an opening in my schedule, I’ll email you intake paperwork and we’ll schedule a complimentary 25-minute initial telehealth consultation. This gives us an opportunity to discuss what you’d like to explore in therapy and consider how our work together could best support you.
